Leeds Gets a Bigger Burrito Fix as Tortilla Moves to Bond Street

Tortilla is bringing its Leeds fans a bigger, brighter place to grab burritos, with the popular Mexican restaurant set to open a new high-street site on Bond Street later this month.

The move marks the next step in Tortilla’s growth in the city, as it relocates from its current unit in Trinity Kitchen to a larger restaurant just a short walk away. The existing Trinity Kitchen location will close on Monday 19th January at 3pm, ahead of the new opening.

The new restaurant at 33 Bond Street will officially open its doors on Friday 23rd January. With more space and a refreshed, modern look, the site has been designed to offer a more relaxed and welcoming setting for customers to enjoy Tortilla’s California-style burritos, tacos and bowls.

To mark the opening, Tortilla is inviting customers to an exclusive sneak preview on Thursday 22nd January, with a free lunch up for grabs. Between 12pm and 1.30pm, guests can claim one free medium burrito, bowl or salad. The offer is available to existing Leeds Burrito Society members, as well as new sign-ups, who will receive a QR code by email to redeem on the day. The giveaway is first-come, first-served, while stocks last.

Visitors to the preview can also expect a live guac bar, and Burrito Society members will receive a 2-for-1 offer to use during the restaurant’s first week of opening.

Olivia Paris, Interim Marketing Director at Tortilla, said: “We’re incredibly excited to be opening our new high-street Tortilla in Leeds. Moving into a bigger space on Bond Street allows us to offer an even better experience for our customers, with a fresh, modern look alongside the same freshly made, California-style burritos and tacos Leeds already knows and loves. We can’t wait to welcome everyone in.”

Tortilla is known for its fully customisable menu, with every dish made fresh to order and typically served in under 90 seconds. Customers can choose from more than four million possible burrito combinations, with over 70 per cent of fillings plant-based. Ingredients are selected for both flavour and provenance, from hand-smashed Hass avocado guacamole to chillies imported from Mexico and grass-fed British Isles brisket used for barbacoa.

Inspired by San Francisco taquerias, Tortilla restaurants offer a laid-back, social atmosphere, serving burritos, tacos and bowls alongside beers and margaritas. The brand also operates with a focus on sustainability, sending zero waste to landfill and using 100 per cent renewable electricity across its restaurants.

The new Bond Street opening brings Tortilla’s Leeds presence firmly onto the high street, giving fans more room to enjoy the bold flavours they’ve come to love.
