One Leeds student is about to get the ultimate fresher’s boost as Boojum launches its new Bankrolled by Boojum competition. The prize on offer is £500 a month for a full year, adding up to £6,000, plus free Boojum for the same 12 months. The cash goes straight into the winner’s account to spend however they like.
David Maxwell, CEO of Boojum, commented: “University life is tough on the wallet, and students have always been at the heart of Boojum. We wanted to do something meaningful to support them this year, and Bankrolled by Boojum is the result. £500 a month plus free burritos for 12 months will set the lucky winner up for an unforgettable year, with Boojum fuel to keep them going.”

The competition is open to all Leeds students, marking a thank you from Boojum to the city’s student community since opening its branch at Merrion Street and Woodhouse Lane last year.
Alongside the main prize, Boojum will be giving out £50 gift cards every day of Freshers Week to randomly chosen app users. Students can enter by downloading the Boojum app, and every customer will automatically be in with a chance.

It’s the latest in a run of student-focused campaigns from the Mexican restaurant brand. In 2019, Boojum offered to pay one student’s rent, followed by an all-expenses-paid trip to Mexico in 2023. More recently, they gave away 50,000 burritos.
Boojum first opened in Belfast in 2007 and has built a loyal following with its fully customisable burritos, bowls and nachos. Their Leeds branch has quickly become popular with students seeking affordable meals and generous portion sizes.
Students who wish to enter the giveaway can find full details at boojummex.com/bankrolled or via Boojum’s social media channels. Entries close on Sunday 5th October, with the winner announced soon after.
