Leeds’ dining scene is set to welcome a vibrant new addition as India Bistro opens its first UK restaurant on Harrogate Road, Chapel Allerton, on 1st December. The acclaimed Indian brand, established in India in 2014, brings its rich culinary heritage and bold cocktail creations to the UK in partnership with Foodlink Global Restaurants and AVT Capital.
The India Bistro experience promises a culinary journey across India, from the bustling streets of Delhi and Punjab to the royal kitchens of Awadh. The menu celebrates iconic regional dishes from North India and beyond, crafted by skilled chefs using the freshest ingredients with a contemporary twist.
Signature dishes include Kashmiri Lamb Chops, marinated in yogurt, saffron, fennel, and Kashmiri chilli; Tandoori Seabream, a whole fish charred in the tandoor with mustard, turmeric, and yellow chilli; and Mango Prawn Curry, with tiger prawns poached in a smoky mustard and raw mango broth enriched with coconut milk. Soft kulchas come in inventive flavours such as truffle cheese with jalapeño, sun-dried tomato with caramelised onion, spiced potato, and paneer with fenugreek and dry mango. Desserts include Curated Kulfi, made with slow-reduced milk and seasonal fruits, and Gulab Jamun, soft dumplings soaked in fragrant rose syrup.
The drinks menu features beers, wines, spirits, and the Cocktail Yatra, which takes guests on a journey across India through artful mixology. Signature creations include Shahr-e-khaas, a warming blend of whisky, Kahwa tea, grapefruit, and ginger; Paudi, a floral mix of vodka, lychee, raspberries, and sparkling wine; and City of Joy, a lively gin-based cocktail infused with gondraj, apple, elderflower, cucumber, and basil.
