Love, Jackie opens on Thursday, 5th November, bringing proper pints, live music, games and a little Irish mischief to the heart of Leeds.
Everyone knows a Jackie. She’s the friend who says “go on then, just one more”, turns a quick drink into a big night and somehow always ends up on the karaoke mic. She’s the life and soul of the party, and now she’s got a pub of her own.
Opening on Merrion Street, the 7,000 sq ft Love, Jackie is the latest concept from Leeds-based Professionals at Play, the group behind Roxy Ball Room and King Pins. Expect a good pour, great company and absolutely no promises of an early night.
The holy trinity of Irish stouts, Guinness, Beamish and Murphy’s, is poured properly, alongside Leeds’ own Kirkstall Virtuous IPA and a whiskey selection that celebrates the best of Ireland. Think Crazy Pool, interactive darts, pool, shuffleboard and two karaoke rooms, alongside live music every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Live sport, happy hours, open karaoke nights and weekend live music brunches are also on the cards. Whether it’s an after-work pint, a birthday celebration or a Saturday afternoon that gets a little out of hand, there’s always a reason to meet at Jackie’s.
The opening comes as Merrion Street enjoys a new wave of investment and hospitality openings, helping bring fresh energy to one of Leeds’ best-known nightlife destinations.
Matt Jones, CEO of Professionals at Play, said: “Everyone knows a Jackie. She’s the one who gets everyone together, convinces you to stay for another and makes sure there’s never a dull moment.
“We wanted to create a pub with that same personality. Somewhere with brilliant drinks, live music, plenty of games and the kind of atmosphere that makes you forget you were only popping in for one.
“Merrion Street is coming back to life, and we’re excited to be part of its next chapter. We think Jackie will fit right in.”
And because Jackie’s never been one to turn up empty-handed, the first drink’s on her. Sign up at lovejackieleeds.co.uk before 5th November to claim a Guinness or a Prosecco on opening night.
