A new restaurant has opened in Leeds, promising a fresh take on Persian and Mediterranean dining.
Biya2, which opened its doors yesterday (21 August), has taken over the former TGI Friday’s unit on Wellington Bridge Street. The 200-cover venue combines contemporary design with Persian-inspired décor, featuring a statement open bar, reclaimed wood tables, and bespoke banquette seating.

The menu celebrates Persian grilling traditions alongside Mediterranean dishes, with skewers, grilled meats, mezze and seasonal salads all made with locally sourced ingredients where possible. Guests can also expect themed nights, live entertainment and events.
Hospitality entrepreneur Toraj Dizchi, who founded the much-loved Soosi restaurant in Roundhay, is behind the concept. He said: “At Biya2 our aim is to create more than just a meal. We want every guest to experience authentic flavours, handcrafted cuisine, and hospitality that comes from the heart.

“We believe we’ve created a unique concept for Leeds and a dining experience that is built on tradition with a bit of extra flair, which will leave customers well entertained and well fed!”
Biya2 is open daily from 12pm until 10pm. To mark the launch, the restaurant is hosting a buffet menu priced at £30 per person, with a free welcome drink and live entertainment from 7.30pm until late.
