Mexican food fans in Leeds and Sheffield should clear their afternoon schedules this Thursday, 2nd April. To celebrate National Burrito Day, the popular restaurant chain Tortilla has announced it will be giving away 15,000 free burritos nationwide starting from 3pm.
The “Big Burrito Giveaway” returns for its third year following massive success in 2025. Last year saw thousands of hungry diners queuing at branches to claim their share of over 7.5 metric tonnes of food.
To claim a free meal, fans must be members of the Burrito Society. The process is simple: download the Tortilla app and create an account. A free burrito perk will be automatically added to all member accounts on Thursday. This can be redeemed in store for any medium burrito, naked bowl, or salad.
The offer even includes premium add-ons like guacamole, cheese sauce, and chorizo at no extra cost.

With branches located in key Yorkshire spots, local fans are advised to arrive early to beat the expected queues. In January 2026, the Leeds city centre branch moved to a larger high street location on Bond Street, providing more space for the anticipated crowds.
The giveaway is part of a wider push for Tortilla’s loyalty programme, which rewards members with stamps for every purchase, leading to free toppings and full meals throughout the year.

- The Rules: You must download the Tortilla App and sign up for a Burrito Society account before arriving.
