Hebden Bridge’s Vocation Brewery is raising a glass to a year of national and regional recognition, cementing its reputation as one of Yorkshire’s leading independent breweries.
Known for bold flavours and carefully crafted beers, Vocation collected awards across several prestigious competitions, including the Great Taste Awards, the World Beer Awards, and the SIBA North West Independent Beer Awards.
Gail Lumsden, Chair and CEO at Vocation Group, said:
“Our brewery’s journey started with a small team brewing in an old chicken shed perched 1,000 feet above sea level in the hills above Hebden Bridge, so to receive this level of national recognition across several competitions is something we’re incredibly proud of. These awards are a testament to the dedication and craft of our brewing team – and it’s fantastic to see Yorkshire beer celebrated both nationally and regionally.”

Vocation’s signature IPA, Life & Death, earned a prestigious three-star award at the Great Taste Awards for the second year running. At the same time, Crush Hour, Love & Hate, Naughty & Nice Chocolate Stout, and the gluten-free Heart & Soul also received accolades.
Success continued at the World Beer Awards, where Hop, Skip & Juice and Naughty & Nice Chocolate Stout claimed Gold and Country Winner titles, and Life & Death and Crush Hour earned Silver medals.
Closer to home, the SIBA North West Independent Beer Awards recognised Crush Hour as Gold and Category Champion in the Keg Pale Ale category, with Naughty & Nice White Chocolate & Raspberry picking up Silver. Love & Hate also secured Silver and Category Champion at the SIBA Can & Bottle North West Region Awards, earning a place at BeerX 2026.
Head Brewer Rob Beck said:
“As a brewing team, we obsess over getting every detail right – from hop composition and bitterness profiles, to fine tuning balance and the unique character of each style. To see our work recognised across such a wide range of respected competitions is incredibly special.”
With its roots firmly in Yorkshire, Vocation Brewery continues to showcase the region’s craft beer talent on both national and international stages, bringing Hebden Bridge flavours to beer lovers across the UK and beyond.
