Yorkshire’s Biggest Food & Drink Festival Returns with Star-Studded Chef Line-Up

Food lovers, get ready! The highly anticipated Food & Drink Festival is back at Temple Newsam in Leeds this August, promising a weekend of top-tier culinary talent, mouth-watering flavours, and vibrant entertainment. With thousands of attendees expected, this year’s event is shaping up to be the best yet.

Leading the charge in the festival’s exclusive chef demonstrations are some of the biggest names in the food scene. Expect live cooking from Jamie Clinton of Shears Yard, Sam Pullan of Empire Cafe, and Param Singh of Punjabi Heaven. Great British Menu star Minal Patel will also be showcasing her skills, fresh from her recent appearance on the show.

Festival-goers will have the chance to learn from the very best as Lisa Bennison of Bettys shares her baking expertise while 3AA Rosette chef Doug Crampton of Eight at Gazehill brings his fine dining flair to the demonstration tent. Fans of sweet treats won’t want to miss Beth Wardley of Beth Bakes Cakes, who may just let slip a few secrets to creating the perfect pastry.

A major highlight of the weekend will be Chef Aijith Kumar of Leeds’ award-winning Indian restaurant Tharavadu. His restaurant has even caught the attention of Hollywood stars, with Rebel Wilson and her fellow cast members stopping by recently.

The festival has become a firm favourite for families and foodies alike, with not just cooking demos but also live music, artisan markets, street food, independent bars, and plenty of entertainment. Yorkshire Food Guide will once again be hosting many of the demonstrations, bringing their wealth of local food knowledge to the stage.

Jonathan Harris, Co-founder and Director of Yorkshire Food Guide, said: “It’ll be the fifth year of the North Leeds Festival and every year, the demand gets bigger, and the offering gets better. It’s always a pleasure welcoming local chefs to our tent to share their favourite recipes with the public, and we’ve such a strong and diverse lineup this year that there’s bound to be something for everyone.”

And the excitement doesn’t stop in Leeds – the Yorkshire Food Guide team will also be taking their live demos across the region, with upcoming stops in Sheffield and Harrogate.

The festival will run on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th of May, between 10am and 7pm at Roundhay Park, Leeds, LS8 2ER. You can book tickets or find out more on the Yorkshire Food Guide website.’
