January birthdays have long had a reputation for being a bit of a let-down, but Zizzi is on a mission to change that.
The Italian restaurant brand has launched its new January Birthday Jackpot, a nationwide initiative designed to give adults born in the first month of the year something properly worth celebrating. Every January-born guest who takes part is guaranteed a birthday treat, with one lucky diner in each restaurant also in line to scoop a £100 jackpot to put towards their bill.
The move follows new research revealing that more than a third of Brits (35.1 per cent) believe January is the worst month to be born. Between post-Christmas fatigue, tightened budgets, fresh New Year’s resolutions and friends who feel all “celebrated out”, January birthdays often slip by with little fanfare.
Zizzi is hoping to turn that around. Throughout the month, each of the brand’s 136 restaurants will hand out special birthday cards to the first 100 January-born guests through the door. Inside, diners will find a surprise treat, which could include a free Garlic and Mozzarella Bombe, starter, dessert, soft drink or candy floss. One envelope in every restaurant will also contain the Birthday Jackpot, offering £100 off the table’s bill.
To take part, January-born guests can book online via zizzi.co.uk/birthday or through the Zillionaires’ Club app and request the January Birthday Jackpot experience when making their reservation. Walk-ins can also join in by showing valid photo ID to confirm their birthday. The offer is available to guests aged 18 and over.
