On the menu, you’ll find a whole array of wonderful dishes ranging from Western favourites like Satay Chicken and a great selection of dim sum, if your appetite wishes to indulge in some skillfully crafted, flavourful Chinese dumplings.

Tattu
If you’re looking for something special, Tattu might be the restaurant for you.
The whole restaurant oozes class, from the skillfully well thoughout decor, which includes a giant cherry blossom tree which shadows most of the dining area, to the exceptionally put together menu, which promises to delight the taste buds.
The talented cheffing team here are the icing on the cake, and the service is attentive. You’d be forgiven for thinking an establishment with a reputation as fierce as Tattu would be overly expensive, but if you’re selective with what you eat, you can dine here for a reasonably modest sum.
Although, of course the dishes at the higher price points are even more awesome, I can’t fault their menu on any level. Whether it’s Dim Sum you’re after, or something a little out of the ordinary, you’re well catered for at Tattu.

Sweet Basil Valley
Found just off Rawdon roundabout, Sweet Basil Valley is unmissable. The building it’s housed within is styled with traditional Chinese architecture in mind, which certainly captures the attention. Having previously been China Red, as well as Chinese Cuisine, they also serve a menu of Thai food, too.
Its vast menu, and various offers throughout the week makes it a great place for repeat visits. Inside, you’ll find a large dining space, with simple decoration and a variety of Chinese ornaments dotted around to add that all important touch of China. They’ve got a family friendly, fully loaded menu, with options for all tastes.
They’re well known for their quality, and the skill they construct their dishes with. You can expect to tuck into well seasoned, delicious dishes with plenty of choice – the portions are well sized, and they also offer a selection of deserts. Families are more than welcomed at Sweet Basil Valley, and as a result it’s a popular choice for those with an occassion to celebrate – well worth a visit!

A family run affair – Rice Paper Cantonese is a local classic found in LS15, a little away from the city centre.

The restaurants pretty big, with 120-covers set over two floors. It’s rare that diners leave G-Wu feeling anything less than satisfied.

In the Leeds suburb of Guiseley, a few miles from the city centre, but easily accessible by either train or car is the wonderful Zen Rendezvous. A relaxed family restaurant with a great menu – it’s been in Leeds for many years now and has established a wonderful reputation in that time.
Here you’ll find all the Chinese classics that’ve become a staple of the UK dining scene. As well as your usual Sweet & Sour Chicken, Chow Mein and more recognisable dishes, they have a big menu, with dishes to suit all tastes.
The team there are welcoming, knowledgable and provide excellent service to all. They’re fully licensed, too, serving a great selection of drinks that’re sure to complement your meal. The interior’s modern, with a oriental decorations featuring thoughtfully throughout the dining area, which give it an added touch of authenticity.
When I visited, I wanted to try something new, but wasn’t sure what to choose, the owner was on hand to offer his recommendations and talk me through the menu, helping me choose something delicious.
Zen Rendezvous is perfect for a romantic meal out with a partner or a family occassion.
