Senior leaders from Calderdale Council, Homes England, and housebuilder Keepmoat have gathered in Illingworth to launch a £35 million brownfield regeneration scheme delivering 192 new homes to North Halifax.
The site, located across Furness Avenue and Turner Avenue South, forms part of the broader North Halifax Transformation Programme. The project utilises underused land to build sustainable housing while preserving the local greenbelt.
“This significant development supports our priority to ensure that local people can access safe, warm housing. It’s particularly good to see this brownfield land being redeveloped, putting the site back into use and preserving our precious greenbelt.”
— Cllr Keith Ingle, Calderdale Council Cabinet Member for Economic Regeneration
Key Details of the Scheme

- Investment: £35 million total development value from Keepmoat.
- Homes Built: 192 properties, including 44 affordable homes offered through affordable rent and shared ownership.
