Market Place, the organisers behind the much-loved Leeds Christmas Market, have officially opened trader applications for the 2025 event. The festive market will return to City Square from 21 November to 21 December, bringing seasonal cheer to the heart of the city.
This year, there’s an added boost for small creative businesses. Market Place has introduced subsidised rents for craft and artisan stalls, aiming to support independent makers and give more people the chance to be part of the event.

Nirmal Bassi, Market Manager at Market Place, said:
“Market Place is proud to support small businesses and independent makers. This year, we have introduced an initiative for the Leeds Christmas Market in City Square, offering subsidised rents for craft and artisan stalls. Our goal is to make the event more accessible to talented traders while welcoming new, high-quality businesses into the Market Place community.”
The market, set in the heart of Leeds, attracts thousands of visitors from across the country. It offers traders a valuable opportunity to connect with new customers, build awareness and showcase unique products in a high-profile setting.
Organisers are encouraging applications from traders offering arts, crafts and fresh food. All submissions will be carefully reviewed for quality and relevance, with spaces awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. Demand is expected to be high, so early registration is advised.
