Bellway Strategic Land has formally submitted an outline planning application to City of Doncaster Council for a proposed residential development of approximately 111 new homes in Branton, near Doncaster.
The scheme is earmarked for a 16-acre parcel of land off the B1396 Doncaster Road, situated on the eastern edge of the village.
The plans follow two public consultation events held in July and November, where local residents were invited to review the proposals and share their feedback.
As part of the application, 23 per cent of the new homes would be delivered as affordable housing to help meet identified local need.
Alex Bowling, Strategic Land Manager for Bellway North, said:
“After extensive engagement with local residents, we have now submitted our proposals to Doncaster Council. Our intention throughout the process has been to ensure people living in and around Branton had clear information about the plans and an opportunity to provide their comments.
“Branton is a thriving village with strong local amenities and sustainable transport links to Doncaster’s wide range of services, facilities, and employment opportunities.
“Our vision is to create a high-quality development featuring modern homes within a thoughtfully designed layout. The scheme includes generous green open spaces, along with new footpaths and cycleways that integrate the site with the surrounding South Yorkshire countryside.
“We intend to retain and enhance existing trees and hedgerows, providing landscaped areas for recreation and play, and we plan further planting to support and improve biodiversity across the site.”
