The Wensleydale Creamery, located in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, has announced the launch of its exciting new cheese themed 1897 Coffee Shop menu at its popular Visitor Centre in the beautiful market town of Hawes.
With its handcrafted artisan cheese at the forefront of the new offering, visitors can choose from three new menus: Ultimate Cheese on Toast, Griddled Cheese Toasties and Home-made Warm Cheese Scones, which are a recent introduction to the 1897 Coffee Shop.
Visitors can tuck into delicious Ultimate Cheese on Toast varieties, which feature some of the Creamery’s iconic cheeses, such as Wensleydale Blue on sourdough bread topped with sauteed mushrooms, served with Rosebud Preserves Red Onion & Port Chutney; Naturally Oaked Smoked Yorkshire Wensleydale on sourdough bread with grilled chicken and avocado salsa; and Kit Calvert Old-Style Wensleydale on bloomer bread with confit tomatoes and Spiced Apple Chutney.
The range of Griddled Cheese Toasties feature tasty options including Yorkshire Cheddar Cheese with BBQ Pulled Pork and Caramelised Onions; Wensleydale Blue Cheese with Grilled Mushrooms and Red Onion & Port Chutney; and Yorkshire Rarebit Cheese with Yorkshire Ham and Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese.
Taking the Creamery’s popular home-made scones to the next level, sees the 1897 Coffee Shop introduce an innovative cheese scone menu! Served warm with a slice of cheese and pot of locally made chutney, varieties feature Wensleydale Blue, Yorkshire Wensleydale & Apricots, and the classic Yorkshire Wensleydale and Double Gloucester cheese scone.
Speaking about the new cheese themed menus, Trish Cannon, Visitor Centre Director said, “It’s so exciting to be launching our brand-new cheese themed menus. Our cheese on toast and homemade scones have always been extremely popular, so we wanted to expand our offering to create new and unique menus to showcase our speciality cheeses for which we are so well known.
“The aim is to offer our customers something new this spring, that oozes amazing taste and offers exceptional value too.
“What better place to enjoy these unique cheese-themed menus than our 1897 Coffee Shop which boasts a stunning panoramic view of the rolling Yorkshire Dales!”
