Harewood House has announced a diverse programme of fun activities for the Easter season, running from Saturday 28th March to Sunday 19th April 2026. Located just a short drive from Leeds, York, and Harrogate, the estate offers 140 acres of parkland and gardens alongside interactive events designed for families and young historians.
Cracking the Case and Safari Adventures

The headline event for the season is the Golden Egg Heist, an interactive trail set in the South Garden. Aimed at ages 7 and up (£3.50 per person), participants must help the Golden Goose solve a magical mystery by tracking down clues and mythical creatures. A tailored alternative hunt is also available for younger children aged 2–7, leading to an Easter prize.

For those looking to explore the wider estate, the Easter Estate Adventure runs from Friday 3rd to Monday 6th April. This one-hour guided trailer tour journeys through private parkland and working farmland, offering sightings of Red Kites, deer, and Highland Cows. Tickets for this experience (from £44.95 for adults and £24.95 for children) include a light lunch in the Stewards Room and full access to the House and Grounds. Daily “Nature Safari Bags”, complete with binoculars, compasses, and maps, are also available for free for self-guided exploration.
Immersive History and Seasonal Art

Inside the House, Edith’s Scullery School offers a hands-on look at domestic life in the past. Held on Tuesdays throughout the holidays, children can visit the Old Kitchen to test historical cleaning remedies and watch the collections team preserve historic treasures. This activity is included in the standard day ticket, as is the Springtime House Hunt, a seasonal eye-spy adventure through the State Rooms.

Art lovers can visit “The Season Following”, an exhibition by British artist Charlotte Verity. The display spans five State Rooms, reflecting the cyclical beauty of nature through meticulous plant and flower studies. Children can engage with the works using a free activity booklet available in the Entrance Hall.
Visitor Information and Accessibility
Standard admission during the Easter period is £26.50 for adults and £10 for children when booked online (gate prices are slightly higher). In an effort to remain accessible, £3 tickets are available for visitors in receipt of Universal Credit, Pension Credit, DLA, or PIP. The estate also features a Servants’ Hall Family Fun Space, providing a dedicated area for art, imagination, and dressing up.
