Wensleydale Creamery is making the summer holidays even more inviting for families, with free entry for children under 16 to the Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese Experience throughout the school break.
Tucked in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, the Creamery is best known for its iconic Yorkshire Wensleydale cheese. Now, it’s also a top spot for family days out, offering a mix of food, fun and discovery.
Kids (and grown-ups too) can get stuck into a packed experience, including live cheese-making demonstrations and a guided tasting session, where you can find out what goes best with the Creamery’s award-winning cheeses. There’s also a behind-the-scenes look at how the cheese is made and a chance to dive into over a century of Wensleydale heritage.
New this summer is the ‘Find Feathers’ trail quiz, where families can search for the mischievous Feathers McGraw from the Wallace & Gromit films, hidden around the Experience. Solve the clues to uncover a secret word.
Wallace and Gromit themselves make an appearance in the form of giant knitted figures, perfect for a photo or two, along with Norbot, the Creamery’s charming robot sidekick.
After exploring, families can head to Calvert’s Restaurant, where little ones can enjoy the Gromit’s Platter and adults can unwind with a Cheesy Afternoon Tea for Two. Expect plenty of handcrafted cheese, chunky chips, and a pot of Yorkshire Tea.
