Bradford is getting ready to shine with a star-studded lineup as The Broadway gears up for its much-anticipated Festive Launch on Saturday, 9th November! This year, the Christmas lights switch-on promises to be bigger and brighter, headlined by none other than Duncan James, Simon Webbe, and Anthony Costa from the iconic noughties boy band, Blue.
Set to take place between 12pm and 6.30pm, the free event at The Broadway will bring a fantastic mix of live entertainment and festive spirit to the city centre, officially kicking off the holiday season in style. Blue’s classic hits and nostalgic charm are sure to be a highlight, but they’re not the only stars gracing the stage.
Back by popular demand is global sax sensation Ellie Sax, known for her high-energy performances that never fail to get the crowd in the party mood. She’ll be joined by YouTube sensation Danny Malin from Rate My Takeaway, who’ll entertain with his humour and debut his new Christmas single, adding some Yorkshire flair to the festivities.
This year, The Broadway is also adding fresh faces to the lineup, including a Taylor Swift tribute act, Lauren G, to keep fans singing along. Families will be thrilled with the kids’ entertainment, featuring Disney’s Ariel and Elsa, Pokémon characters, and a lively mini disco. Panto fans can look forward to seeing Coronation Street star Chris Gascoyne, who will be performing in Pinocchio at the Alhambra Theatre this season.
Ian Ward, General Manager at The Broadway, said: “It’s going to be great to welcome Duncan, Simon, and Anthony from Blue to the centre along with the other fantastic acts. Ellie Sax always gets the crowd hyped up, and Danny Malin will be entertaining everyone with his new Christmas single.”
This year’s launch also includes a special preview of Bradford’s upcoming City of Culture celebrations for 2025, with performers set to offer a taste of the year-long cultural programming to come.
