Little explorers are being invited to trade the classroom for the jungle this February half term as the White Rose Shopping Centre brings back its popular free craft club. From Monday 16th to Friday 20th February, the centre’s Central Atrium will be transformed into a wild workshop, offering families a roarsome all-weather experience.
The drop-in sessions, running daily from 10am to 4pm, provide a host of hands-on activities to keep young artists busy. Children can let their imaginations run wild by decorating their own treasure chests or crafting colourful masks and bookmarks inspired by rainforest animals. To add to the adventure, a massive 2.5m tall gorilla will be stationed at the centre, providing the perfect backdrop for a family selfie.
Ashleigh Kellett, Deputy Centre Director at White Rose Shopping Centre, said: “Our free craft workshops are always enjoyed by families, and we’re pleased to provide a fun, all-weather experience for the little ones. We look forward to seeing what wild and wonderful creations our young artists produce with our giant visitor.”
Beyond the crafting table, the centre is highlighting a range of budget-friendly ways to entertain the family. Cineworld is hosting special half-term screenings of Madagascar and Sing for just £2, while attractions like King Pins, The Escapologist, and the outdoor play area offer further entertainment.
To help with the cost of a day out, several restaurants are running family deals. Bella Italia is offering a ‘kids eat free’ promotion throughout the break, and Bianco Lounge is serving a free breakfast table for children, including cereal, fruit, and pastries, until 11.30am each morning of the event.
