Meadowhall has announced Sheffield Hospitals Charity as its official charity partner for 2025, building on a successful festive period that saw over £30,000 donated by visitors to support local causes.
Sheffield Hospitals Charity provides crucial funding to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Foundation Trust. The funds go towards enhancing the lives of patients, their families, and NHS staff across the city. This year, the charity’s primary focus will be on improving support for people living with dementia, including specialist training, enhanced in-hospital experiences, and initiatives to help people remain independent for longer.
Darren Pearce, centre director at Meadowhall, said: “We are delighted to partner with Sheffield Hospitals Charity, an organisation that plays such a vital role in our community. The generosity of our visitors is truly inspiring, and it’s heartening to know their support will make a real difference to patients and families in need during challenging times.”
As part of the partnership, Meadowhall will host a series of fundraising events throughout the year, with proceeds going to support the charity’s dementia appeal. The centre will also take part in the Master Cutler’s Challenge 2025, an annual initiative designed to boost funds and raise awareness for local causes.

Beth Crackles, Chief Executive at Sheffield Hospitals Charity, said: “We are so pleased to be Meadowhall’s chosen charity partner, especially as we continue our mission to improve the lives of people living with dementia and their families across Sheffield. Support from organisations like Meadowhall is vital in helping us provide life-changing care and services during some of the most challenging moments people face.”
The announcement follows an impressive December of charitable efforts at Meadowhall. Over £21,800 was raised for local charities, including Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospital Charity, Roundabout Homeless Charity, Support Dogs, and Salvation Army, through festive events such as performances by local choirs and community groups.
A further £6,600 was donated from sales of Meadowhall’s limited-edition gift cards, benefiting Eden Dora Trust, a charity supporting children and families affected by Encephalitis and Acquired Brain Injury. The festive season also featured a Christmas pop-up shop hosted by local band Reverend and The Makers, with proceeds supporting Samaritans.
Visitors to Meadowhall can continue to support Sheffield Hospitals Charity via the centre’s Giving Box, located on the Upper Level near Dune and Lindt.
