National Science and Media Museum Launches Festive Family Programme

This festive season, the National Science and Media Museum is inviting families to enjoy a programme of holiday activities running from 6th December 2025 to 4th January 2026. From magical fairy trails to snowy science shows and classic Christmas films, there is something for visitors of all ages.

Pictureville Cinema kicks off the festive season on 6th December with screenings of holiday favourites including The Polar Express (2004) in IMAX 3D, The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992), Home Alone (1990), and Arthur Christmas (2011). Guests can also enjoy festive food and drink offers throughout December.

From 13th December, families can explore a new fairy trail inspired by the Cottingley Fairies. Trail booklets will be available from the welcome desk, allowing visitors to solve clues and spot fairies hidden throughout the museum, alongside the famous cameras now on display in the Sound and Vision galleries.

Also launching on 13th December is Winter Wonderlab, a live science show featuring fire, frost, and flashing lights, performed daily at 11:30 and 14:00. Families can also take part in stop-motion animation workshops, creating mini winter movies inspired by festive classics such as The Nightmare Before Christmas, The Polar Express, and The Snowman.

All family workshops, live shows, and activities are included with free museum admission, while cinema tickets start from £3.
