Sheffield Forgemasters has opened applications for 18 new apprentices to join its award-winning programme as the company undergoes a massive technological transformation. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) owned business is currently advancing a £1.3 billion investment programme, which includes the construction of a new 13,000-tonne forging line and a state-of-the-art 30,000 m² machining facility.
The recruitment drive aims to upskill the next generation of engineers and production specialists to operate one of the world’s most advanced manufacturing sites. Successful applicants will join a workforce of 770 people, working toward professional qualifications while earning a salary and gaining hands-on experience in high-integrity defence manufacture.
