Sheffield’s very own Lionesses Esme Morgan has visited Thornbury Hospital to celebrate the opening of the hospital’s Ambulatory Care Unit.
As part of Circle Health Group’s investment programme at Thornbury Hospital, the newly opening Ambulatory Care Unit (ACU) houses minor procedures and endoscopies, featuring the latest state-of-the-art equipment in a calming, modern environment. Patients are looked after by a dedicated team of nurses and consultants ensuring a seamless pathway and enhanced care and recovery in the brand-new unit.
The ACU offers same-day care to patients at the hospital. This means that patients are treated and can usually go home the same day.

The Association for Perioperative Practice (AfPP) which is testament to the hard work, skills and dedication brought to the department by all those involved in providing safe patient care.
During her visit, Esme had the opportunity to view the Ambulatory Care Unit and met with several staff. Esme also visited the Hospital’s state-of-the-art scanning centre as well as the physiotherapy department.
