Families looking for a heroic way to spend the February half term can head to the Royal Armouries Museum, as its popular Superheroes event makes a return from 14–22 February. Back by popular demand, the museum is trading historical legends for modern-day icons with a full week of hands-on activities, live shows, and creative workshops designed to keep young visitors entertained throughout the school holidays.
The free event features a packed daily schedule, including lively storytelling sessions and the debut of the all-new Super-Experiment show, which promises to blend science with spectacle. For those who want to get closer to the action, there will be daily meet-and-greet sessions where fans can meet their favourite characters and snap a selfie.
Children with plenty of energy can test their mettle on the Super Soldier Selection assault course or refine their skills at the Superhero Academy. For those who prefer a more creative approach, a dedicated comic strip workshop allows kids to design and draw their own heroes from scratch. Families can also explore the museum’s vast galleries together by following the Superhero Quest Trail, solving clues to earn a special sticker.
While the event is free to attend, the museum is running both morning and afternoon sessions and recommends booking in advance due to high demand. Donations are also welcome to help the Royal Armouries continue providing its free programme of family-friendly events.
