The Maccabees Reveal Stacked Support Lineup For Landmark Kirkstall Abbey Show

Indie rock favourites The Maccabees have confirmed a massive supporting bill for their only northern headline show of the year. Joining the quintet at Leeds’ Kirkstall Abbey on Friday 31st July 2026 are Newcastle alt-rock legends Maxïmo Park, art-rock innovators Everything Everything, and psychedelic stalwarts The Mystery Jets.

The lineup is rounded out by rising Yorkshire singer-songwriter Fiona-Lee, who is set to release her highly anticipated Every Woman EP this April. The show forms part of a major outdoor summer tour marking the band’s return to the stage following their 2024 reunion, which ended a seven-year hiatus.

Maccabees guitarist Felix White said: “The year we’ve just had was so special to all of us, and so unexpected, that it has put some momentum in everyone collectively …. and who wouldn’t want to do all that again.”

The band, featuring Orlando Weeks, Hugo White, Rupert Jarvis, Sam Doyle, and Will White, previously signed off in 2017 at the peak of their success. Their decorated career includes the Mercury Prize-nominated Given To The Wild, the Ivor Novello-winning anthem ‘Pelican’, and their first UK number one album, 2015’s Marks To Prove It.

The Live at Kirkstall Abbey series is expanding to two weekends for the first time this summer, following a successful debut in 2024 that drew 15,000 people. Curated by Leeds-based promoters Futuresound Events, the series will also feature a performance of A Grand Don’t Come for Free by The Streets, a 20th-anniversary reunion show from Leeds’ own The Sunshine Underground, and the ‘Above All Else’ event headlined by Loyle Carner.

Comedy fans can also look forward to the return of the Kirkstall Abbey Comedy Festival, featuring Dara Ó Briain, Jason Manford, and Lucy Beaumont. Tickets for The Maccabees’ headline date are on sale now.
