Three prominent Yorkshire companies have been named on the shortlist for the British Business Awards 2026, where they will compete alongside some of the UK’s biggest brands at a star-studded ceremony in Edinburgh.
The awards, held in association with NatWest, recognise the organisations setting the benchmark for modern enterprise. Out of a record 400 entries, 150 companies have been selected across various categories following an independent evaluation of their performance, innovation, and contribution to society.
The Yorkshire-based finalists are Bagnalls (Employer of the Year), Bettys & Taylors Group (Family Business of the Year), and HECK! Food Ltd (Growth Strategy of the Year).
Alan Jope CBE, Chair of the judging panel, said:
“The calibre of companies on the shortlist is extraordinary, and our job as judges is simply to maintain the highest standards and ensure that truly outstanding businesses emerge as the winners. From global innovators like AstraZeneca and Moderna to much-loved brands such as Nando’s, Warburtons and Iceland, this year’s cohort represents companies that are truly shaping Britain’s economic future.”
George Clooney visits Social Bite
Josh Littlejohn MBE, Founder of Social Bite and Event Director of the British Business Awards, said:
“It’s brilliant to see so many businesses across multiple sectors and sizes listed on this year’s shortlist. We look forward to welcoming back the British business community for another night of celebration, and to help raise vital funds for Social Bite to allow it to continue making lasting impact for people who are experiencing homelessness throughout the UK.”
The winners will be announced on 30th April 2026 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre. The event will feature a special guest appearance by George Clooney, a keynote speech from Sir Bob Geldof, and will be co-hosted by Rob Brydon and Elaine C. Smith.
