Families across North Yorkshire can once again experience the magic of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ Train Ride, with tickets now on sale for departures between 14th November and 23rd December 2025 at Wensleydale Railway. This much-loved festive event, which has welcomed over 1.5 million riders worldwide, is returning to bring holiday cheer to the region.
Guests embarking on this enchanting journey will enjoy a magical round-trip train ride to the North Pole, where the story of THE POLAR EXPRESS™ comes to life through an immersive one-hour experience. Talented performers bring the characters from the beloved film and book to life, creating an interactive adventure for passengers of all ages.
During the ride, the conductor makes his way through the carriages to punch golden tickets, while dancing chefs serve hot chocolate and delicious cookies. Passengers are invited to read along with the original children’s book by Chris Van Allsburg, adding to the festive atmosphere. Santa Claus himself joins the journey, greeting every child and adult and presenting the first gift of Christmas—a silver sleigh bell. Every guest will also receive a souvenir golden ticket and sleigh bell to take home as a keepsake.
To add to the festive fun, families are encouraged to dress in pyjamas, just like the children in the film, making it a perfect photo opportunity and a chance to fully immerse themselves in the spirit of the season.
In addition to spreading Christmas joy, this year’s event has a meaningful cause at its heart. For every carrier bag purchased at the on-site shops, a donation will be made to support WWF’s efforts to protect polar bears and their Arctic habitat. This initiative encourages little ones and their families to learn about the importance of caring for our planet.
