Vue is opening its doors in Castleford on 28th August with a family-focused event featuring activities, freebies, and special £1 screenings.
The opening day celebrations run from 10am to 2pm, with Vue teaming up with Castleford Tigers and Xscape Yorkshire to offer a mix of film and fun. Tickets for the limited £1 screenings are available online from today, while in-venue tickets cost £2. The screenings include Cbeebies Musical: The Great Ice Cream Hunt at 10:10am, Madagascar at 10:30am, Bluey Let’s Play Chef at 10:05am and 11:45am, and The Dark Knight at 7:15pm.
Visitors can meet JT, the Castleford Tigers mascot, along with a few of the players. Guests can also try their hand at the team’s rugby scoring game and may win free match tickets. Ben & Jerry’s ice cream and F’Real milkshake samples will be available, with both also offered in Vue’s new retail concept, Vue Your Way. Customers can scan their ticket to freely build their snacks before paying at a self-checkout.

But you don’t need to have a £1 screening ticket to enjoy the fun, you can still take part in our activities and we’ll also have a fantastic array of blockbusters including Caught Stealing, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and a special 50th anniversary screening of the original summer blockbuster, Jaws. Castleford will be only the second Vue in the UK to feature the EPIC by Vue large format experience, offering HDR by Barco 4k laser projection and Dolby Atmos three-dimensional sound. The venue will also have 13 other screens, all with VIP seating.
