Householders across Harrogate and the surrounding areas are being urged to keep an eye out for an important letter about their waste and recycling collections. North Yorkshire Council is making some changes to collection days in a bid to improve service reliability and ensure a more consistent approach throughout the county.
Starting from Monday, April 21, collections will take place between Tuesday and Friday each week, reducing the disruption caused by bank holidays and helping to keep things running smoothly. This change means that many residents in Harrogate will receive a letter informing them of their new collection day for both rubbish and recycling.
The letter will also provide helpful information on how to check collection days, when to put out their waste and recycling, and what to do if they have any further questions.
North Yorkshire Council’s executive member for waste services, Cllr Greg White, said: “By making collections from Tuesday through to Friday, we can provide a more reliable and consistent service for all residents across North Yorkshire. We are now writing to all residents in Harrogate and the surrounding area, advising them of their new collection day, so they’re urged to keep an eye out for any changes they might see. Residents are also being reminded they will need to continue to present their rubbish and recycling at their collection point by 6am.”
For those who prefer to check online, from April 21, residents can easily find their new collection day at www.northyorks.gov.uk/bin-calendar/lookup.
