West Yorkshire Mayor Tracy Brabin has officially launched the West Yorkshire Business Growth Hub, a new initiative designed to provide the region’s 100,000 businesses with a “world of support.” Unveiled today, 3rd March 2026, at the Reset Connect North conference in Leeds, the Hub aims to simplify a complex support landscape, ensuring there is “no wrong door” for entrepreneurs and investors seeking to scale, innovate, or decarbonise.
The Hub acts as a coordinated network bringing together local, regional, and national resources. It specifically targets the region’s fastest-growing sectors, including healthtech, creative industries, and the green economy, while supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) across Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield. Businesses that register will receive bespoke information and access to a trusted network covering:
- Finance and Investment
- Skills and Workforce Development
- Innovation and Technology
- Markets, Exports, and Supply Chains
- Workspace and Mentoring
Tracy Brabin, Mayor of West Yorkshire, said:
“Whether you’re launching a startup, growing your order book, investing in innovation or embracing the green transition, there will be no wrong door for you to access a world of support through the West Yorkshire Business Growth Hub. By backing our small and medium-sized businesses, we’ll drive growth, create good jobs, and put more money in people’s pockets.”
The launch aligns with the West Yorkshire Local Growth Plan, which aims to close the productivity gap and add £26 billion to the regional economy over the next decade. Mandy Ridyard, Business Advisor to the Mayor, noted that the Hub is the result of extensive collaboration with the private sector to ensure it delivers what businesses actually need. Research indicates that firms engaging with such support can see productivity gains of approximately 10% within a single year.
