The Yorkshire Festival of Story (YFOS) is back this November with an exciting programme set to explore how stories can inspire action towards a kinder, more sustainable, and inclusive future. Running from 1st to 10th November 2024, the festival will take place in the charming town of Settle, North Yorkshire, offering more than 50 events including workshops, performances, talks, and family-friendly experiences. Organised by arts charity Settle Stories, this year’s theme will highlight the power of storytelling as a force for social good.
Headliners include renowned authors and artists such as David Almond, who celebrates the 25th anniversary of Skellig, and Zeinab Badawi, an award-winning journalist sharing insights from her work on African history. Other must-see events feature Nikesh Shukla discussing diverse voices in literature, and Jack Zipes uncovering the political impact of fairytales. From talks by environmentalist John Francis to captivating performances by Dominic Kelly, the festival promises a rich array of stories designed to spark conversations on empathy, sustainability, and inclusivity.
