Yorkshire Hospice Announces Return of Colourful Fundraiser

Local people will once again have the chance to be covered in brightly coloured paint powder for a very good cause as the Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice PaintRush returns next month.

The colourful 5k outdoor fun run, sponsored by McNally EV, PoundToy and Bristol Street Motors, will take place on Father’s Day (19 June) at Marley Playing Fields in Keighley, raising vital funds for local families needing the expert and compassionate palliative care of the Sue Ryder hospice in Oxenhope.

Andrew Wood, Community Fundraising Manager, is helping organise the event. He said, “PaintRush is a bold and beautiful event to brighten up summer. You can walk, jog, skip or run around the course, getting showered in multi-coloured paint while supporting a much-loved local charity.

“It’s a great event for all the family too – we welcome children taking part from age five upwards. Why notput the date in your diary, sign up andcome join us? You’ll cross the finish line covered in colour with a big smile on your face, while taking home some amazing memories and the feel good factor that you’ve helped local families needing support.”

As well as paint throwing stations dotted along the route, there will also be fun obstacles to tackle – from hurdles and cargo nets, to slime pits and tyres – and the team from AB Jetting will be adding to the fun by spraying participants with pressure washers.

Sam Harveyis a member of the hospice’s Riddlesden and East Morton Fundraising Group, working alongside Andrew to arrange the event. She said they hope lots of people will sign up and join them at PaintRush to help brighten up 2022.

“We really wanted to put on a special event to help support a truly special place, which is close to the hearts of many of us,” shares Sam. “But the main message I want to share is that this family-friendly event is for everyone whether you have had any experience of Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice or not – you are warmly welcome to come join us for bags full of colourful fun!”

Registration for the event is open now at sueryder.org/manorlandspaintrush with adult, under 18 and group ticket options available.
