Award-winning events company, Yorkshire Yurts, is preparing to bring their one-of-a-kind YurtBar Christmas party experience to Leeds from November to January in the grounds of Moor Allerton Golf Club.
With this being the first Christmas without any restrictions – due to the pandemic – the YurtBar team is preparing for their busiest year so far. Many corporate Christmas parties were cancelled or postponed in recent years, but with social events back in full swing, the business has seen a surge in booking and enquiries for the festive period.
The YurtBar is decked with roaring log fires, sheepskin rugs, and pine trees, and offers guests hearty alpine meals, steins of beer, mulled wine, and ski shots – teamed with live music and a 360-degree photo booth. Each yurt is podded together to form a spectacular Alpine Yurt Village that seats up to 320 guests.
YurtBar is now in its sixth year and has previously hosted festive events in Leeds in recent years. This year, the team are hosting alpine lunches, après-ski evening parties and a special New Year’s Eve event featuring a live band. Each event is suited to cater for corporate Christmas parties or groups of friends who want a festive experience with a difference – with a minimum table booking of eight people.
Guests can expect catering from award-winning Yorkshire caterers Baba Ganoush, who will serve food using regional and seasonal produce. The alpine three-course lunch includes a premium, alpine-themed menu, traditional cheese fondue and a selection of traditional alpine-inspired drinks. There’ll also be live music, with a guitarist and vocalist providing entertainment throughout the day.
The après-ski party nights include a luxury three-course dinner with an alpine mezze board, an indulgent main course and sharing dessert trio, hot toddies, steins of beer, vin chaud and the famous YurtBar’ ski shots’. Entertainment comes from a live DJ, a singer and a saxophone player.
YurtBar launched six years ago on the grounds of Moor Allerton Golf Club. Inspired by après-ski, founder Tom set out to bring a slice of the alps festive experience and a cosy ski-party atmosphere to the UK by creating a Christmas party experience with a difference.
Managing director of YurtBar, Tom Sterne, comments: “YurtBar is a magical venue for a whole range of corporate business’s looking to treat their staff, and it’s great to see many of our customers return year after year. I’m confident that 2022 will be the best year yet; we have lots of new attractions, and after all the restrictions over the past couple of years, people are just up for a really good party.
Tom is the founder of Yorkshire Yurts, Yurtshire, and YurtBar. He formerly worked as a qualified Chartered Surveyor before becoming an entrepreneur and launching Yorkshire Yurts in 2010. What began as a one-person business has developed into three brands that have doubled the number of staff they employ in the past year.
Claire Daniels, CEO of Trio Media, hosted her team’s Christmas party at YurtBar last year and said: We chose to go to the YurtBar for our Christmas party as we wanted something different to your typical meal out or corporate venue. The YurtBar definitely did not disappoint, the venue and setup were incredible, and we had such a great time. I’m pretty sure we were the last company to leave, as we were enjoying the drinks and music right until the end!”.
YurtBar’s unique yurt collection includes the largest yurt in Europe (50 ft) and several different-sized yurts – each named after the team’s favourite ski resorts. The yurts are handcrafted in the UK using natural materials and can be hired for weddings and exclusive events.
