The Fat Badger first opened in Harrogate in 2010 and after after years of success, the owners decided to open a second venue in York. Housed in a 400-year-old building (previously the Lamb & Lion), it’s widely considered to be York’s most characterful Inn.

The Fat Badger is a traditional city centre Inn with 12 individually styled guest rooms, a stunning bar stocked with real ales and countless gins, a delightful food menu based around seasonal produce and a secret garden for al fresco drinking and dining. Being in the heart of the city, The Fat Badger boasts excellent views of the Minster from their lovely garden area so it’s a real gem of a place for visitors to the city.

The menus at The Fat Badger are based on seasonal produce sourced from local suppliers so they change quite regularly. However, one can always expect a tempting array of perfectly executed British classics as well as a few globally inspired, culinary delights. Prices for main courses on their a la carte range from £13.95 and £27.50 and on Sundays they serve one of the best Sunday lunches in York.
