Saltaire is undoubtedly one of the most visited villages in Yorkshire. With a fascinating history, the model village was built by visionary mill owner Titus Salt, who was far ahead of his time when it came to workers well fair. The terraced homes, built well over a century ago still stand, offering modern standards of living – even today!
Modern Saltaire is a thriving village with an abundance of things to do, places to eat and a strong dash of culture being available to all – Salts Mill even houses a collection of artwork from Bradford-born artist David Hockney.
This video gives an unparalleled glimpse into the village, showing some of the shops which once existed here as well as many of the streets that you can easily recognise today. Please enjoy!
