Where To Buy Home Accessories in Skipton
The Home Company
High Corn Mill, Chapel Hill, Skipton BD23 1NL
Located inside Skipton’s historic High Corn Hill is a home furnishings company which was established in 1981. It was previously called Pottery and Pine but we was rebranded as The Home Company a number of years ago. In 2015, they added a large showroom overlooking Springs canal and it’s a great place to find the next decorative addition to your home.
They’re mainly known for their extensive range of furniture and their impressive showroom includes Yorkshire’s largest collection of Stressless recliners and sofas. If you’re not ready to upgrade your furniture just yet though, they also stock a huge array of home accessories for all rooms. You’ll find everything from scatter cushions and throws to table lamps and vases. Well worth a browse!
Style House Interiors
23 High Street, Skipton BD23 1DT
Style House Interiors is a family-run independent business based in Wakefield. They opened their Skipton shop towards the end of 2019 and its window display full of dazzling ornaments is hard to miss. If you’re looking for something a bit different to hang on your wall or take pride of place on your windowsill or dresser, then this is the place to visit. They stock lots of beautiful unique ornaments, vases and clocks as well as some stunning art prints and eclectic pieces of furniture.
Much of their stock has quite a glitzy theme but there really is something to suit all tastes in this treasure trove of trinkets. You’re bound to find that perfect talking piece for your living room and it’s the ideal place to find a wedding gift for that happy couple.
Not So Shabby
35 Swadford St, Skipton BD23 1QY
You’ll find this lovely little shop on Skipton’s Swadford Street. It hasn’t been open particularly long but has already made quite an impression locally. As the name suggests, this independent shop in Skipton stocks all things “shabby chic”. This has been a popular trend in interior design for at least ten years now and Not So Shabby is stacked to the rafters with shabby chic delights.
Expect lots of weathered woods, pretty pastels, fabulous florals and meaningful slogans on a wide variety of handmade items including upcycled furniture, mugs, jugs, frames and wall art. They’re also a stockist of Frenchic furniture paint which is perfect for revamping an old dresser or chest of drawers. Even if you’re not shopping for the home, this little gem is worth popping into as they also stock lots of lovely luxury toiletries and gifts.
Out of the ORDinary
4 Craven Court, High Street, Skipton BD23 1DG
Located in Skipton’s Craven Court Shopping Centre, Out of the ORDinary is one of Skipton’s favourite shops. Run on a co-operative model, it is run by a passionate family team who do their utmost to support and promote local crafters. Everything you’ll find in this wonderful shop is made locally by talented creatives who rent shelf space.
There are so many different things to see in Out of the ORDinary that you could easily lose an hour or two just browsing their diverse range of products. They stock cushions, wall art, ornaments, toiletries, drinks coasters, handpainted furniture and so much more. The shop is also beautifully decorated inside and features a stunning Alice in Wonderland themed floor, which is packed with quirky handmade goods!
Bae Chique
2, Regal Buildings, Skipton BD23 2LT
If “bling” is your thing then head over to Bae Chique in Skipton. Located opposite Skipton’s bus station, it’s a beautiful shop filled with glitzy and glamourous furniture and home accessories. This luxurious homeware boutique stocks some stunning high quality pieces which are bound to wow your next house guests.
Expect to be dazzled by sparkling chandeliers, ornate mirrors and some truly stunning pieces of furniture that wouldn’t look out of place in a swanky show home. Be warned though – once you’ve made one purchase, you’re likely to return and make another. They always have new pieces coming in and the staff will happily assist you in choosing the perfect piece.
