Experience a Spine-Chilling Halloween in York with Mad Alice

As Halloween draws near, there’s no better way to embrace the spooky season than by embarking on a thrilling journey through the streets of York, guided by none other than the award-winning Mad Alice herself. York’s spookiest tour awaits, promising a night of spine-tingling tales and ghostly encounters like no other.

Known as ‘one of Britain’s top tour guides,’ Mad Alice is set to lead intrepid explorers through centuries-old secrets, weaving a tapestry of haunted stories and eerie mysteries. The tour’s focal point is the enigmatic Lord Mayor’s Mansion House, a historic gem brimming with its own share of ghostly tales.

This one-of-a-kind tour commences and concludes at the Mansion House, offering a rare opportunity to uncover the supernatural side of York while supporting local charities. Tickets for this exclusive event are in high demand, and with limited availability, they’re vanishing fast.

To add a spirited twist to the evening, the tour culminates with a Mad Alice Bloody Orange G&T courtesy of York Gin, served within the grandeur of the Mansion House. As guests savor their drinks, Alice will unearth spooky stories that have left their mark on York throughout the ages.

This unique experience is not just about spine-chilling tales but also about giving back to the community. The tour supports two local charities as part of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal Fund, namely the Snappy Trust and York Women’s Counselling. By participating, you’re contributing to their invaluable work.

Mad Alice will shine a light on lesser-known stories from York’s past during a circuit from the Mansion House. Highlights of this hair-raising tour include the unveiling of real ghost photographs, mysterious happenings at the Yorkshire Museum, eerie tales from the Minster’s consecrated ground, spine-tingling stories from the Treasurer’s House (York’s most haunted building), and a look into the life of York’s infamous son.

Back at the Mansion House, you’ll hear accounts of lingering spirits in its historic cellar, adding a touch of mystique to this grand venue.

Tickets for this hauntingly captivating experience are priced at just £25, which includes a Mad Alice Bloody Orange G&T (an alcohol-free option is available), snacks, and, most importantly, support for the Lord Mayor’s charities.

To further enhance the evening’s atmosphere, haunting music will be provided by the talented violinist Holly May, along with captivating performances by dancers from York Dance Space.

Alicia Stabler, the actress behind the Mad Alice character, shared her excitement about the tour, saying, “I’ve delved into York’s haunted vaults and found some truly terrifying tales. I promise you an unforgettable evening.”

The Lady Mayoress added, “What better way to raise funds for these wonderful charities than to spend the evening with the brilliant Mad Alice? The Mansion House is a wonderfully atmospheric venue to end the tour—and what a bonus to enjoy a Mad Alice G&T!”
