Looking for somewhere to enjoy a brilliant brunch in Skipton?

The historic market town of Skipton is a big hit with tourists and as the summer season approaches, it may be on your list of places to visit during the school holidays. With its perfectly preserved castle, scenic canal basin, award-winning high street and phenomenally beautiful surrounding countryside, you can easily spend a whole day in this pretty Yorkshire town.

Skipton is also home to some excellent independent restaurants, cafes and pubs, serving top quality local produce throughout the day. However, if you’re travelling to Skipton for a day out, you may not arrive in time to order breakfast at some of the local eateries and it may be too early for lunch. Typically served between 11 am and 2 pm, Brunch is the name given to a meal eaten between the two and there are some superb venues in Skipton offering precisely that.

If it’s brunch in Skipton you’re after, check out the list below and see which one tickles your fancy before you head over to the “Gateway to The Dales”.

6 Places to Enjoy a Brilliant Brunch in Skipton

La Casita

tapas in skipton

10 Mill Bridge, Skipton BD23 1NJ

La Casita is a cosy little restaurant in the centre of Skipton, serving Spanish tapas with a delicious Yorkshire twist. They offer an excellent Bottomless Brunch deal on Saturdays and most Sundays (some Sundays they offer “All You Can Eat” instead) which is priced at £26.95 per person.

You’ll get 90 minutes at your table, during which time you can enjoy 3 different tapas dishes and an unlimited amount of Sangria, Prosecco, draught lager and soft drinks. Their impressive menu includes Meat, Fish and Vegetarian options as well as a few appetizers and sides. Brunch is meant to be a social meal and we cannot think of a better way to spend it than with good friends, unlimited drinks and some beautifully prepared sharing dishes.

Greenwood Café Bistro

brunch in skipton

6 Victoria Street, Skipton BD23 1JF

Greenwood Café Bistro is tucked away just off the High Street in Skipton’s pretty Victoria Square. During the day, they offer a variety of tasty dishes from 10 am right through until lunch and in the evening, this vibrant café transforms into an intimate bistro with an artisan menu that changes monthly.

They cater for most, if not all dietary requirements at Greenwood and all of their produce is sourced locally from the best butchers in the area. Arrive before 12pm and you can tuck into a variety of topped toasts or Brunch favourites like Eggs Benedict and Eggs Florentine, washed down with a glass of Bucks Fizz. If you’re dining after 12pm then you have a variety of options including sandwiches, salads, hot mains and sharing platters. Their midday offerings include a gorgeous Fish Chowder which is just perfect for Brunch.

Three Sheep Tea House & Kitchen

brunch in skipton

78 High St, Skipton BD23 1JJ

Three Sheep Tea House is situated on Skipton High Street and is a firm favourite with locals. Their full menu is available all day so you’re not limited to what you can choose when it comes to a late breakfast or an early lunch. They offer a variety of hot and cold sandwiches, salads and boards, plus a great selection of hot all-day breakfast dishes such as American Pancakes, Breakfast Grill, Breakfast Club Sandwich and Topped Toast.

If you’re after something a little lighter then this place is known for its exceptionally good baked treats. Their freshly baked scones are some of the best around and you can’t walk past Three Sheep without admiring their display of tempting cakes. All in all, it’s a great family-friendly venue offering good quality homemade food. They also have outdoor seating so on those warmer days you can enjoy brunch in the sun!

Bean Loved

17 Otley Street, Skipton BD23 1DY

Another local favourite is Bean Loved. Situated on Otley Street. It’s known locally for great coffee, excellent customer service and, of course, brilliant brunches! With a laid back atmosphere, friendly staff and super tasty food, this a great little place to refuel before exploring the town.

Brunch is served all day at Bean Loved and is always freshly prepared, using only the best available local produce. Their menu includes the expected Eggs Benedict, Eggs Florentine and Eggs Royale in addition to a hearty Shakshuka, Sweet Potato Fritters, American-style pancakes and the ever-popular Smashed Avocado Toast. With prices starting from just £5 for food and their coffees considered some of the best in town, Bean Loved should definitely be considered when looking for somewhere to have brunch in Skipton!

Two Sisters Bar & Kitchen

3a Mill Bridge, Skipton BD23 1NJ

Two Sisters Bar & Kitchen is in a fabulous location on Mill Bridge near the entrance to Skipton Castle Woods and Skipton’s beautiful Parish Church. Offering a great ambience, a simple menu and a lovely outdoor dining area, this is the perfect central spot to enjoy a quality brunch. They’re both family and dog friendly and their menu includes vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

The owners here source all their produce locally and everything they serve from their kitchen is top-notch! For those who prefer something savoury, there are some excellent hot breakfast and brunch options such as their Full English (vegetarian option available), breakfast sandwiches and even a Breakfast Pizza. For those who like a sweeter start to the day, we recommend their fluffy pancakes, fruit granola or one of their homemade cakes. A charismatic independent venue where you’re guaranteed to receive a warm welcome on arrival and leave with a satisfied stomach!

Elsworth Kitchen

18-20 Coach Street, Skipton BD23 1LH

Owned and run by talented husband and wife team, Bruce and Rebecca Elsworth, this vibrant Skipton restaurant has an excellent reputation. Between them, Bruce and Rebecca have more than 30 years of experience in hospitality so, unsurprisingly, the food and service at Elsworth Kitchen are both superb.

Breakfast at Elsworth is served daily until 11 am but on Saturdays, they serve an all-day brunch menu which has proved to be a huge success with locals. Bruce, who heads up the kitchen, is passionate about local produce so everything is sourced from top local suppliers and producers. Their brunch menu includes breakfast dishes, light bites, lunches and sides with prices of main dishes starting at just £4.50. Awaken your palate with a perfectly cooked Full English, go lighter with Smashed Avocado and Poached Eggs or spice things up with their Aubergine and Pea Curry.
