The family who own Keelham Farm Shop in Skipton have been involved in farming and food production for three generations. Suffice to say, they know their stuff! Passionate about local produce, they champion more than 250 Yorkshire producers and farmers so expect a large and diverse range of products here. With expert butchers, grocers and even florists on-site to help you choose what to buy, this farm shop in Yorkshire is a foodie’s dream.

You’ll find fresh fruit and veg in abundance; locally made cheeses; quality meats that are butchered in-house; local ales and spirits; the most delicious handmade pies; freshly baked bread, plus much, much more! They also have an excellent restaurant on-site serving mouthwatering menus of dishes created by their talented Head Chef and made using the fresh produce from their shop.

Ludbrook’s Farm Shop

Ludbrook’s is a small farm shop near Bingley in West Yorkshire. Open 7 days a week, they stock a wonderful range of locally grown fruit and veg plus a great selection of home-reared meats with 100% traceability. With it being one of the smaller farm shops on our list, you won’t be able to source everything you need for your weekly shop. However, if you’re passionate about meat and like to know exactly where it has come, this one is well worth a visit. All their pork, bacon, beef and lamb come from animals that are bred and raised on the family farm and you can’t get much fresher than that!

In addition to the expected cuts of meats, they also prepare and sell tasty mealtime treats such as Chicken Kiev Bombs, Chicken Parcels, Stuffed Pork Loin Steaks, Steak Burgers and homemade pies. If you have a freezer to fill, we recommend following Ludbrook’s on Facebook as they regularly post special offers so you can get a big bundle of meat and veg for a very reasonable price.

Blacker Hall Farm Shop

This family-run Yorkshire farm shop near Wakefield is a treasure trove of delicious treats! Blacker Hall Farm is open 7 days a week and 75% of what they sell is made by them; the rest is sourced from local producers. With a butcher, greengrocers, fishmongers, bakery, deli and restaurant all on-site, it’s more than just a farm shop – it’s a foodie destination! Not only do they sell an impressive selection of fresh produce and artisan goodies, but they’ve also put a great deal of effort into making shopping with them as convenient as possible. Delivery is available locally and they offer and Click & Collect service too.

If you want to try before you buy, book a table at The Barn Kitchen. Everything on the menu is made from scratch and the majority of the ingredients come direct from their own farm. No time to sit and eat? Blacker Hall Farm are the first farm shop in Yorkshire to open a drive-thru cafe! Located one mile off junction 39 of the M1, it has a fast-food Drive-Thru menu like no other. Mackenzie’s Smokehouse Farm Shop

Mackenzies Smokehouse was established in Blubberhouses in 1999. For two decades, the owners grew the business into a recognisable Yorkshire brand and it became one of the best smokehouses in the UK, supplying the likes of Fortnum & Mason with their smoked and cured foods. Current owners, Paul and Gabby Palmer took over the business in 2019 and the business continues to be an excellent place from which to source some of the finest Yorkshire produce.

In the farm shop at Mackenzies Smokehouse, you’ll find the finest smoked fish, poultry, game and cheeses, nestled amongst a plethora of high-quality foodie delights that are sourced and produced locally. Of course, they also have a cafe on-site serving a menu that spectacularly showcases their products. Their famous sharing platters are priced at £25 and provide an opportunity to sample a wide selection of their famous products in one sitting. It’s also licensed so you can wash it all down with a glass of wine or two. This place should definitely be on your Yorkshire foodie bucket list!

Minskip Farm Shop

Award-winning Minskip Farm Shop is situated on a working free-range egg farm near York. Much of what they sell is grown on their farm and what isn’t, is sourced only from the best local producers. Best known for their golden yolked eggs, laid by hens ranging on a 6-hectare paddock, Minskip Farm Shop is a little different to other farm shops in Yorkshire. Their market garden allows them to provide their customers with the freshest possible produce.

With it being a working farm, there are also a few friendly characters to meet during your visit, including their Alpacas, Pygmy Goats and Pigs. If that’s not enough to entice you here for an afternoon out, then you should know that they also boast the world’s first egg restaurant on a working egg farm. Open daily until 4:30 pm, the menu features an eclectic array of egg-based dishes priced between £10 and £15. An egg-cellent and unique farm shop in Yorkshire!

Blue Hills Farm Shop

Blue Hills Farm in Birkenshaw near Bradford has been supplying and selling fresh meat from farm to table since 1967. The first farm shop to sell meat to their local community, it boasts three generations of loyal customers – some of whom travel miles and miles to purchase the Blue Hill Farm’s tender cuts of meat. As there’s no middle man and the meat comes directly from the farm to the counter, the prices are pretty reasonable. In addition to their expertly butchered meats for human consumption, they offer an extensive range of raw and cooked pet food supplies. Bag yourself some juicy, 21-day matured steaks and treat your four-legged friend to soft lamb bones, pig ears and filled hooves.

Of course, there’s more than just meat available here. There’s an excellent bakery selling fresh bread and homemade cakes plus a lovely little cafe serving hot breakfasts and light lunches.

A visit to Blue Hills Farm wouldn’t be complete without letting the little ones loose in their play barn. It houses a mammoth 8,500 square foot play frame, enormous slides, Go-Karts and a sports area so has become a popular venue for children’s birthday parties.

Cannon Hall Farm Shop

Cannon Hall Farm are producer of beef, pork and lamb so expect superior quality meat from their butchers as well as expert advice on preparation and cooking should you require it. Although their meat is exceptionally good, it doesn’t stop there! They have an in-house bakery so their shelves are filled daily with fresh baked goods including their award-winning pies. It’s a one-stop shop selling top-quality produce on one of the best farm attractions the UK has to offer.

Robertshaw’s Farm Shop

Keelham Hall Farm, Thornton, Bradford BD13 3SS

The Robertshaw family have been providing their local community with local food for almost a century. Three generations ago, Harry Robertshaw opened a butcher’s shop in Halifax and his butchery skills were passed down through the generations. Owned and run by Harry’s grandson, James, the family business comprises a working sheep farm, animal petting croft, bakery, takeaway, garden centre and, of course, a farm shop.

Robertshaw’s Farm Shop sells an impressive array of locally sourced produce, In fact, an incredible 95% of their delicatessen produce comes from Yorkshire and they stock one of the largest selections of Yorkshire regional ales in the county. Most of the tasty treats available to order from their on-site takeaway are also made using the very same products they stock in their shop. A wonderful family-run Yorkshire farm shop boasting nearly 100 years of expertise.

Fodder Farm Shop

Fodder is a farm shop and cafe supporting over 430 Yorkshire farmers and producers. Owned and run by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, 85% of what is sold in the farm shop comes from God’s Own Country and all profits are used to support the charity. Stocked to the rafters with a rainbow of fresh fruit and vegetables, selling 100% quality Yorkshire meat from their award-winning butchery and the finest quality local cheeses from their deli, shoppers can find everything they need for family mealtimes.

Visitors can also tuck into expertly prepared dishes made using Yorkshire produce, either by dining in their cafe or grabbing a quick bite from the 1960’s Airstream conveniently situated in their car park. Aintsy Farm Shop offers everything you would expect from a good local farm shop. From a warm Yorkshire welcome and excellent customer service to products that have been hand-selected with animal welfare and local conservation in mind. The business initially began in 2000 to provide farmers with a way of selling their meat direct to consumers. An increase in demand over the years led to the business developing into a fully stocked Yorkshire farm shop featuring a traditional butchery, bakery, deli and grocers.

Small in size but big in personality, this charming farm shop near York do their utmost to meet their customers’ needs, whether that be by sourcing additional stock, baking cakes to order or cutting meet to specific requirements. The vast majority of their produce is sourced from farms within the Vale of York so is all wonderfully fresh.

Mainsgill Farm Shop

Built from scratch by a dedicated and determined couple from Lancashire, Mainsgill Farm Shop is situated 4.5 miles west of Scotch Corner with an entrance leading directly onto the A66. In a prime location for commuters and regular travellers, the stone-built farm shop is set across two spacious storeys and is best known for the quality grass-fed beef produced, butchered and sold on-site.

As well as their own home-reared meats, their impressive granary food hall stocks a mammoth selection of delicious products including fresh fruit and vegetables, British and continental cheeses, local chutneys and preserves, luxury confectionery and freshly baked goods from their award-winning bakery. In 2014, they extended their shop so Mainsgill Farm Shop boasts a whopping 10,000 sqft of retail space. Once you’ve finished browsing their ground-floor food hall, head upstairs to continue your shopping experience. The first floor is home to a gift hall selling pottery, crockery, soft furnishings and more plus a clothing section stocking brands including Barbour, Joules and House of Tweed.

The Whole Hogg

Based on a working farm in Yorkshire’s food capital, Malton, The Whole Hogg is a traditional farm shop with a cosy cafe. Family run and offering a warm Yorkshire welcome to all those who enter, it stocks all the expected produce plus a few surprises. Established in 2008 as a means of improving the sustainability of a family farm and providing the local community with local produce, Roots is a beautifully presented farm shop in a stunning, rural location. Roots is situated on Home Farm, which is part of the Arncliffe Estate. It stocks all kinds of Yorkshire produce including cheeses, preserves, artisan bread. wine, beer and goods from their in-house bakery.

Of course, like all good farm shops in Yorkshire, they also have a butchery offering fine cuts of meat and oven-ready products. 80% of the beef they sell is from their own farm and the rest of the meat they sell is sourced from neighbouring farms that are less than 4 miles away. To get a better idea of just how good their products are, pop into their cafe during your visit. Their cafe menu features dishes made using meat from their own butchery plus ingredients from over 17 Yorkshire producers. Most of the available foods, including their sausage rolls, pork pies, quiches, scones and cakes, are made in the Roots kitchen so freshness is guaranteed.

Rob Royd Farm Shop

Rob Royd is an award-winning farm shop in Barnsley with an onsite butchery, bakery, deli and popular restaurant serving up tasty lunchtime treats made using their finest produce. You’ll find their counters packed with quality meats sourced from local farmers, freshly baked pies, homemade ready meals, freshly prepared salads and much, much more. As creative as they are skilled, the butchers here regularly produce easy to cook meaty mains to extend their already impressive offering.
