Langlands Garden Centre near Shiptonthorpe will open its revamped and extended Gardener’s Retreat restaurant in mid December. The new space has a fresh, simple design and now includes a daily traditional carvery. Visitors will be able to order cooked breakfasts, light lunches, home baked cakes and the new carvery meals, all prepared by the Langlands kitchen team.
The expansion adds 175 seats, bringing the total capacity to 300. The aim is to provide guests with more space and a more relaxed dining experience.
The larger restaurant and new carvery will also create around 20 jobs in cooking, serving and customer service. The roles will support the local area and give the centre more capacity to welcome families, walkers and visitors from nearby towns and cities such as Beverley, York, Malton, Hull and Goole.

Ricky Towers, group restaurant manager for British Garden Centres, commented: “We’re proud to open our bigger, better restaurant with a new carvery to offer a wider choice and more space for everyone. Whether you’re coming from the local towns or out in the country, we want Langlands to be your go-to spot for food and relaxation.”
The restaurant will open in mid December, in time for the festive season. It will offer a place to enjoy a meal while shopping for Christmas gifts, decorations and gardening essentials
