Vinyl lovers in Yorkshire have a new date to mark in their diaries. Independent record shop Record Plant is bringing The Great Yorkshire Record Fair to the York Railway Institute on Saturday, 4th April, running from 10am to 4pm.
Set to be one of the region’s biggest record fairs, the event will feature over 200 tables of specialist stallholders from across the country. Fans of all eras and genres will have thousands of records to browse, from rare finds to classic favourites. Entry is just £1, with all proceeds going to the Music Venues Trust to support the small venues that play such a vital role in the UK music scene.
The fair is organised in partnership with the York Railway Institute and by the team behind Record Plant, the independent Leeds shop and its recently opened York branch on Gillygate. Record Plant’s Farsley store, based in the Sunny Bank Mills creative hub, has quickly become a cultural hotspot, hosting live music events and curating a soundtrack for the local community.
John-Paul Craven, co-owner of Record Plant York, said:
“Three months in and our York shop has really hit the ground running! With our record fair at Leeds’ Corn Exchange fully booked month in, month out, we thought it would be great to put a sister event on in York. We’ve already had a lot of bookings from all over the country and can’t wait to welcome even more traders and music fans.”
Both Record Plant locations will also be taking part in Record Store Day on Saturday, 18th April, continuing to celebrate Yorkshire’s vibrant vinyl community.
For traders looking to take part in The Great Yorkshire Record Fair, further details are available directly from Record Plant.
