The Swine Bistro Brings Back Its Legendary Pie Nights

Leeds food lovers have a familiar treat to look forward to, as The Swine Bistro brings back its much-loved Pie Nights. One of the restaurant’s most popular and eagerly awaited events, these evenings have been part of The Swine’s story since its early days and remain a firm favourite with regulars.

The independent Headingley restaurant, located on Otley Road opposite the Arndale Centre, is one of the Good Food Guide and SquareMeal’s Top 100 Best Local Restaurants. Pie Nights are a celebration of everything The Swine does best: bold British flavours, slow-cooked comfort food and generous, joy-filled cooking, all wrapped in proper pastry and served with the restaurant’s signature warmth.

This season’s Pie Night menu brings together rich, meat-led classics alongside inventive vegetable-focused options, all made in-house. Dishes include a deeply savoury Beef Cheek & Oxtail pie, a comforting Chicken, Leek & Tarragon, and two standout vegetarian options: Artichoke, Ricotta, Portobello & Walnut, and Fennel, Hispi Cabbage, Butter Bean & Old Winchester.

For groups and special occasions, there’s also a true centrepiece designed for sharing. The large suet-topped Venison, Red Wine & Bone Marrow pie serves four and is rich, indulgent and made for the middle of the table.

Pie Nights perfectly capture the spirit of The Swine Bistro, harking back to the early days of the restaurant and its love of generous cooking and communal dining.

Jo Myers, co-founder of The Swine Bistro, said: “Our love of making and serving the finest pies is a huge part of our story. They’re about taking the time to cook things properly – slow braises, good pastry, big, bold flavours for people to enjoy together. It’s comfort food, Swine-style.”

Pie Nights will run on selected dates, starting with 4th and 11th February, with further dates to be announced. Prices start from £24 per person. Alongside the pies, diners can also enjoy the restaurant’s usual starters, including homemade terrines and pâtés, followed by indulgent desserts such as sponge puddings and the now-iconic Swine Bistro trifle.

The Swine Bistro is open Wednesday to Sunday for lunch and dinner. Bookings can be made online at www.theswinebistro.co.uk.
