Family-run food firm HECK! is inviting local jobseekers to its Bedale factory this month as it looks to expand its team across several production roles. The open day, scheduled for 28th February, offers candidates a behind-the-scenes look at one of North Yorkshire’s most prominent manufacturing facilities.
Taking place at the company’s Kirklington headquarters on Lime Lane, the event will run from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the current team, tour the production line in action, and undergo a short interview. The business is specifically looking to fill hands-on roles, including:
- Machine Operators
- Mixing Room Team Members
- Packing Operatives
- Maintenance Staff
The recruitment drive comes as recent labour market data identifies Bedale and Thirsk as thriving employment hubs for food manufacturing and logistics. As a major private employer in the region, HECK! plays a vital role in the local economy. Current ONS figures for the North East show a 70.4% employment rate, and HECK! aims to contribute to this growth by providing long-term career pathways rather than just seasonal work.
Andrew Keeble, HECK! co-founder and CEO, said: “We’re looking for enthusiastic people who want to be part of a brand that’s proud to make great-tasting, better-for-you food here in Yorkshire. Food production is exciting, fast-paced and rewarding, and this is a chance to join a family-run business where every team member makes a real difference.”
He added: “Working in food production at HECK! is more than just a job, it’s a career. From operating machinery to helping our products get from our HQ to supermarket shelf, there’s something here for anyone who enjoys learning and being part of a team.”
Prospective applicants are encouraged to register their interest on the HECK! website before attending, and should come prepared for a factory tour on the day.
