If you have been waiting for Dishoom to arrive in Leeds, you can officially start planning your first visit. Reservations are open now for the brand’s first Leeds café on Vicar Lane. To celebrate the launch, the café is running a soft-opening period starting on 3rd August, where diners can enjoy 50% off food, ahead of the official opening on 14th August.
The new café is taking over a prime spot at 68-78 Vicar Lane, right between the Victoria Gate and Victoria Quarter shopping centres. The menu is a love letter to the street food, family kitchens, and historic cafés of Bombay, but Leeds diners are also getting three exclusive menu creations that you won’t find anywhere else.

First up on the food front is the Malvani Lamb Curry, a dish inspired by the coastal cooking of Maharashtra. It features tender, slow-cooked leg of lamb in a deeply spiced sauce of roasted coconut, cardamom, chillies, turmeric, and pippali pepper. It is served hot with golden, flaky Laccha Paratha for dipping and a sharp onion salad on the side.
On the drinks list, the bar team has come up with Samir’s Vice, a refined, clarified take on a Miami Vice cocktail. It blends pineapple, sweet strawberry, and Seychellois rum with coconut milk, finished off with cardamom bitters and a dehydrated pineapple slice. For beer fans, Dishoom has teamed up with the local legends at Northern Monk to brew Kohra IPA. It is a crisp, zesty West Coast session IPA created specifically to cut through and complement the bold spices of the curries and smoky grills.

These new additions join all the classic crowd-pleasers that put Dishoom on the map. Breakfast means the legendary Bacon Naan Roll and a warm cup of house chai, while the rest of the day features grills, biryanis, and the famous House Black Daal, which is simmered slowly for twenty-four hours to get its rich, signature texture.
Arun Kumar, Executive Chef at Dishoom, said: “Every Dishoom menu tells the story of Bombay through its food. For Leeds, we wanted to celebrate the dishes our guests return for time and again, while creating a handful of new ones that belong especially to this café. The Malvani Lamb Curry pays homage to the rich cooking traditions of Maharashtra’s Konkan coast, while our collaboration with Northern Monk feels like a joyful meeting of two neighbourhood favourites.”
Chef Kumar commented: “Like the Irani cafés that inspired us, we hope this becomes a place where people gather often over breakfast, for family feasts, or simply because there is time for one more cup of chai.”
Like its sister cafés, Dishoom Leeds will mostly keep its doors open for walk-ins, meaning you can just turn up and grab a table. However, if you prefer to have your plans locked in, reservations are open now on their website for breakfast and lunch, alongside a select number of evening slots for dinner.
