Otley’s Newall Church Hall and Land to Be Auctioned with Planning Permission for Six Homes

Otley’s Newall Church Hall and nearly an acre of adjoining land are set to go under the hammer later this month with a guide price of £595,000. The site, which has already secured planning permission for residential development, will be featured in a live-streamed auction.

Located on Newall Road near Otley town centre, the property comes with consent to convert the existing church hall into two homes. The planning permission also allows for an additional four houses to be constructed on the land behind the hall, alongside dedicated green space and landscaping. This development consent was secured following a successful Planning Inspectorate decision earlier this year.

The entire site will be put up for sale in the upcoming live stream auction hosted by BTG Eddisons Property Auctions on Wednesday 29th July.

Chris Jackson, associate director at BTG Eddisons Property Auctions, said: “Securing consent to develop this site was not straightforward but, as the planning inspector noted, it will deliver six well-designed homes, boosting Otley’s housing supply while supporting the local economy.”

Jackson commented: “The site is in an excellent location close to Prince Henry’s Grammar School, the River Wharfe and the town centre. Otley is a highly desirable place to live, with excellent pubs, shops and restaurants, easy access to rail services from Menston and Ilkley, and all the benefits of the Yorkshire countryside on the doorstep.”

Jackson added: “We’re already seeing strong interest in the property and expect competitive bidding when it goes under the hammer later this month.”

For those interested in the development, more information on the property, bidding procedures, and other available lots can be found on the BTG Eddisons Property Auctions website.
