Sheffield teenager Rowan Campbell-Pilling secured two podium finishes at Silverstone during the fifth round of the 2026 GB3 Championship.
Returning to the UK following European rounds at Spa-Francorchamps, the Hungaroring, and the Red Bull Ring, the Xcel Motorsport driver demonstrated strong pace throughout the weekend. Reaching speeds above 160mph on Silverstone’s 3.6-mile Grand Prix layout, Campbell-Pilling featured consistently in the top three during free practice before qualifying second and fifth for the main races.
The driver kicked off the race weekend by finishing third in race one, followed by a season-best second-place finish in race two after running within a second of the leader throughout the event. Starting 11th in the reverse-grid finale, Campbell-Pilling executed a high-speed overtake through the Maggots and Becketts section to cross the line in seventh place.
Reflecting on the weekend, Campbell-Pilling said: “To take two podiums at Silverstone, in my first year at this level, shows how much preparation and dedication has led to this point. The engineering from the team has been outstanding, and it’s been great to have everything align as we took to the UK’s most iconic track. We have truly maximised everything this weekend and will continue to work hard as we head to Donington for the next round.”
The double podium moves Campbell-Pilling to eighth in the overall GB3 championship standings. His career tally now stands at over 30 trophies across two seasons in British Formula 4 and a third-place finish in the 2025 F4 UAE Trophy Series.
