Yorkshire-born dog food brand Pure Pet Food has launched a search to find Yorkshire’s most deserving dog to serve as guest of honour at its inaugural festival, Pure Fest.
The competition is open to working dogs, assistance animals, police dogs, and family pets across the region that have made an exceptional contribution to their owners, communities, or workplaces. Nominations close at 12 pm on Sunday 20th September 2026 via Pure Pet Food’s social media channels.
The winning dog will receive VIP treatment at Pure Fest, taking place on Sunday 27th September 2026 at Bert’s Barrow in Hillam, North Yorkshire. Designed as a festival experience for dogs, the event features a programme of activities including a scavenger hunt, a collar-making station, dog-friendly Yorkshire puddings, puppuccinos, Northern Bloc dog ice cream, and professional photography sessions.

A live Q&A panel featuring TV personality Julian Norton (The Yorkshire Vet), representatives from charity partner Support Dogs, and Pure Pet Food owners will offer advice on canine care. Proceeds from the event will raise funds for Support Dogs, a national charity that trains assistance dogs for adults and children with autism, epilepsy, and physical disabilities.
“Dogs play such an important role in our lives, and we wanted to create something that puts them firmly at the centre for a change,” said Roz Cuschieri, Chief Executive Officer at Pure Pet Food. “We’re looking forward to hearing the stories behind the nominations and welcoming one very deserving dog as our first Guest of Honour.”
Chris Daykin, Partnerships Manager at Support Dogs, added: “We’re delighted and grateful to be part of Pure Fest and to see dogs celebrated for the extraordinary contribution they make to our lives.”
Tickets for Pure Fest are available online, with the winner of the Guest of Honour search announced ahead of the event.
