Locals in Sleights have reason to celebrate as historic North Yorkshire pub The Plough Inn has been bought by local buyers who plan to bring it back to life.
Positioned on Coach Road along the popular route between Whitby and the North York Moors National Park, the Grade II listed pub features panoramic views across the Esk Valley, three letting bedrooms, owners’ accommodation, and outdoor trading space. Specialist business property adviser Christie & Co completed the sale at a freehold asking price of £300,000.
New owners David and Katie Cattley plan to sympathetically restore and refurbish the characterful building before reopening its doors to the village in 2027.
