Yorkshire commercial interior design specialist Design Tonic has completed an extensive refurbishment project to create a new UK headquarters in Leeds for global technology company Sharp.
Located at South Central in Leeds, the workplace has been designed around connection, collaboration, and employee wellbeing, replacing Sharp’s previous head office in Wakefield. The new site serves as both a flagship headquarters and an integrated technology showroom, bringing together Sharp’s teams, solutions, and expertise under one roof.
Design Tonic managed the project from concept through to delivery, working in collaboration with Sharp’s in-house Workplace Design, Print, and Audio Visual teams. The space features a variety of work environments, including touchdown areas, informal meeting spaces, dedicated meeting rooms, booths, pods, breakout areas, and a stylish kitchen.
The design approach prioritises wellbeing and inclusivity by balancing quieter, focused zones with vibrant collaborative spaces, giving staff choice over sensory levels and working environments throughout the day.
“Our new headquarters represents an important investment in our people and the way we want to work as a business,” said Donna Carrick, Chief People and Transformation Officer at Sharp UK. “Design Tonic understood our ambitions from the start and helped us transform the space into a workplace that is both true to our brand and uniquely Sharp. It gives us a headquarters that not only meets our needs now but provides an adaptable and inspiring workplace for the future.”
Amanda Cook, Co-Founder of Design Tonic, added: “The way people use offices has evolved significantly, so our aim was to create a workplace that gives people genuine choice. It needed to provide great spaces for collaboration and connection while remaining highly practical. The finished space brings those elements together and provides a workplace that can support the needs of Sharp’s people while providing plenty of flexibility for years to come.”
