HECK! Employee Wins Young Processor of the Year at National Awards

HECK’s Mica Keeble is celebrating a major achievement after winning Young Processor of the Year at the National Egg & Poultry Awards. The 27-year-old was honoured at a dazzling ceremony in London earlier this month, recognising her significant contributions to the Bedale-based sausage and burger company.

Mica began her journey at HECK! five years ago, starting on the packing line before quickly advancing to a senior role. Now, she conducts the company’s weekly management production meetings and oversees a 70-strong team, ensuring quality control and distribution.

Married to HECK! co-founder Roddy Keeble and a mother of two, Mica has also appeared in popular TV shows like Casualty and Emmerdale. Despite initially joining HECK! to fund her acting career, Mica’s dedication to her role has made her an integral part of the team. She praised HECK! for their support, especially during her health issues during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Mica’s a real inspiration to the team, and we’re incredibly proud of her,” said HECK! co-founder Jamie Keeble. “She exemplifies how one can build a great career in the food industry, and we see her as a future leader in our business.”

In addition to celebrating Mica’s win, HECK! has launched its first internship programme, open to people of all ages and experiences. The programme aims to provide a comprehensive learning experience about every aspect of the business, from field to fork.
