Local charity Caring For Life has received a donation of £1,500 from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, as part of the local Homebuilders Community Fund initiative.
Christian charity Caring For Life was established in 1987 and has been working to support vulnerable and at-risk people in the Leeds area ever since. The charity takes a holistic approach to its supportive programme to help individuals build a safe, secure life. Many of those the charity helps are affected by multiple, complex issues that have originated from neglect and abuse, mental health issues, and learning and physical disabilities. Caring For Life offers supported-living homes, support with housing in the community, and a wide-ranging programme of 10 therapeutic daytime activities, to those in need.
The donation from Barratt Developments Yorkshire West will help the charity to build a new, environmentally friendly, daytime Refectory and Centre, at Crag House Farm, where Caring For Life is based. The new centre will allow the charity to double its resources, with space to feed 120 people, and a new base for a food bank. The new refectory means that the group will be able to scale up their provision of both hot meals for those in need and daytime activities, helping struggling adults across Leeds.
As the UK’s largest Homebuilder, Barratt Developments has a strong, ongoing commitment to the communities in which it builds, and this donation will help the company to further their impact, and to help those in need in the local area. As part of the initiative, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West donates up to £1,500 to a different registered charity every month.
